Your Truest Source of Power: The Words You Speak

Today I want to share a powerful reminder with you: your truest source of power lies in the words you speak.
Now, if you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “Why doesn’t anything ever work out for me?” or muttering something like, “Ugh, it’s always one thing after another,” I want you to pause and consider this: the words we speak shape our energy—and our reality.
Words Carry Energy
Think about it. Have you ever paid someone a genuine compliment and seen their whole face light up? Or maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of harsh criticism, and it ruined your day. That’s the power of words in action.
Words have the power to elevate someone’s energy or bring it crashing down. The same is true for the way we speak to ourselves. So, here’s a question for you:
Would you talk to your friends the way you talk to yourself?
Most of us wouldn’t dream of being that harsh to others, yet we’re quick to criticize ourselves when things don’t go as planned.
Breaking Old Patterns
The way we talk—to others and to ourselves—often comes from learned behaviors. I grew up in what I’d call a “heavy” household. As the youngest of eight kids, things could get a little intense. My parents did the best they could with what they had, but the environment was often competitive and aggressive.
I’m not blaming them; we all do our best with what we know. But those early experiences shaped how I spoke to myself for years. And the words I used kept my energy stuck in a low vibration.
Understanding Vibrational Energy
Let’s try something together.
Say the word hate out loud.
Feel how heavy it sounds? It’s a word rooted in fear—a lower vibration energy tied to emotions like guilt, shame, and self-doubt.
Now say love.
Notice the shift? Love has a lighter, higher vibration.
This isn’t just woo-woo talk; it’s energy in action. The words you use create the energy you live in. And if you’re constantly saying things like, “Nothing ever goes right for me,” you’re unintentionally attracting more of that energy into your life.
Shifting Your Words, Shifting Your Energy
Here’s the good news: you have the power to change this.
It’s not always easy. Believe me, I know! There are still days when I feel like kicking a can down the road. But the difference now is that I’ve learned to catch myself. I’m aware of the power of my words, and I consciously choose to shift them to something more empowering.
Here’s what I want you to remember:
- Your words have power.
- They carry an energetic vibration.
- And they shape the reality you experience.
If you want to realign your energy and step into your truest power, start with your words. It’s a practice, and it won’t change overnight. But every time you choose a higher-vibration word, you’re taking a step toward the life you truly want.
So, where will you start today? What words will you choose to raise your vibration?
Until next time,
