Key #2: Recognizing Discontentment
Discontentment is another signal from your higher self, but it’s different from longing.
While longing is deeply personal and internal, discontentment often comes from external sources.
- You may feel discontent with your job, your boss, or the work you do.
- You may feel discontent with the world around you—politics, social issues, or things seemingly out of your control.
- You may even feel discontent with your body, your health, or your emotional well-being.
The challenge is that longing and discontentment can feel very similar—they both signal that something in your life needs to shift. But here’s how to tell the difference:
- Longing leaves you feeling empty, lost, or alone—like something is missing from your life.
- Discontentment often shows up as frustration, irritation, or even anger—pointing to what is no longer working for you.
Both are important. Both are signals that you’re ready for a change. The question is—how do you move forward?
